The Municipal Council of Figueira da Foz awarded Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções the Medal of Industrial Merit, Silver-Gold grade, distinguishing it for its contribution to the success of the rehabilitation project of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Seiça, a national monument and deep historical and cultural significance. The public tribute ceremony took place last Sunday, January 26th, one year after the rehabilitated monument was opened to the public.
The Municipality also distinguished the Atelier 15 architecture firm with the Medal of technical-scientific merit.
Representing Teixeira Duarte, Manuel Maria Teixeira Duarte, expressed gratitude for the distinction awarded: «Teixeira Duarte feels very honored. Very honored by the unusualness of the act, by the generosity of the recognition. On behalf of Teixeira Duarte and its Collaborators, thank you very much.”.
During the occasion, two plaques were also unveiled in honor of Atelier 15 and Teixeira Duarte, with the ceremony ending with a visit to the Monastery.
