Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções has strengthened its response capacity in the field of Topography with the acquisition of a drone equipped with LiDAR technology, consolidating its ongoing commitment to the digitalisation of construction processes.

This solution enables medium- and large-scale surveys to be carried out with a significantly higher level of efficiency and accuracy than traditional approaches.

The use of this drone makes it possible to carry out surveys without the need for land clearance or site preparation, access areas that are difficult or impossible to reach by traditional means, substantially reduce execution times, and minimise the human resources required.

The DJI Matrice 400 drone, a state-of-the-art piece of equipment now integrated into Teixeira Duarte’s operations, stands out for its high autonomy and range, as well as its advanced RTK GNSS positioning system, which ensures centimetre-level accuracy in the georeferencing of data.

Equipped with the Zenmuse L3 LiDAR sensor, the system can generate high-resolution three-dimensional models — known as point clouds — composed of millions of points that accurately reproduce the terrain’s topography.

In addition to the initial survey, this technology also enables continuous project monitoring, particularly in tracking earthworks volumes and the progress of construction works.

With this investment, Teixeira Duarte strengthens its technical capabilities, promoting more efficient, safer and more sustainable solutions, while reinforcing its position at the forefront of innovation in the sector.
