Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções has strengthened its operational capacity with two large-diameter rotary drilling rigs for its Geotechnical and Foundations operations.

The two units are SOILMEC SR-65 + CFA Kit machines, high-performance and robust rigs designed to meet the demands of specialist foundation works.

Key technical specifications:

  • Operating weight: 60.5t
  • Cummins L9 engine with 272 kW
  • Rotary unit torque: 240 kNm
  • Telescopic Kelly bar: 4×13.5m

Following delivery of the equipment to the Montijo Operational Hub (POTD), the rigs were fully assembled and a training session was held for Operators, Mechanics and Electricians, ensuring the teams are prepared to operate and maintain the new equipment.

Teixeira Duarte Recognised at the InovaInfra Awards in Brazil for the Third Time

Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções has won the InovaInfra Award for the third time, reaffirming its commitment to innovation applied to its operations. The award is an initiative of O Empreiteiro magazine, a leading engineering publication in the Brazilian market, recognising solutions, projects and initiatives that drive innovation, efficiency and the modernisation of engineering and infrastructure in Brazil.

At the 7th edition of the InovaInfra Awards, held in São Paulo, Teixeira Duarte was recognised in the Safety category for the project “Maintenance Process Optimisation: Mechanising Tyre Replacement in Infrastructure Works”.

Developed by a multidisciplinary team working on the dam decommissioning projects in Mariana (Minas Gerais), this new solution enables tyre replacement on equipment to be carried out in complete safety, avoiding the need to move machinery to workshops for minor repairs – a process that previously caused asset downtime and negatively impacted productivity.

By adapting a specific attachment for handling large tyres, coupled to a forklift truck already available on site, this innovation has minimised risks and improved operational safety. It has also made it possible to optimise execution time in the field, reduce fuel consumption, and generate direct productivity gains.

Both the idea and its implementation demonstrate the ingenuity of Teixeira Duarte’s people and their ability to apply technical expertise in pursuit of continuous improvement.

Teixeira Duarte marks World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The commitment of Teixeira Duarte to Occupational Health and Safety was once again highlighted on 28 April through the promotion of awareness and engagement initiatives involving employees across several markets, marking World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

With a deeply rooted corporate culture focused on risk prevention, Teixeira Duarte includes this occasion in its annual calendar by carrying out specific actions that help reinforce safe behaviours and healthy working environments. These initiatives aim to emphasise that safety goes beyond simply complying with rules or procedures; rather, it is a conscious daily choice, reflected in every act of attentiveness, every responsible decision, and a clear and unwavering commitment to protecting life.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work was established by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2003 with the aim of promoting the prevention of work-related accidents and diseases, as well as raising awareness among policymakers and society of the importance of safeguarding workers’ health and safety.

Teixeira Duarte and ARCH attended the 28th edition of Tektónica

Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções and ARCH participated in the 28th edition of Tektónica, which took place from April 23 to 25 at FIL in Lisbon, concurrently with the Lisbon Real Estate Fair (SIL).

Recognized as the leading trade fair for the construction sector in Portugal, Tektónica brought together companies, professionals, and the general public, establishing itself as a premier venue for knowledge sharing, networking, and the presentation of innovative solutions for the sector.

Sharing the same booth, the teams from Teixeira Duarte and ARCH welcomed hundreds of visitors, showcasing their projects, technical expertise, and the distinctive approach that defines their work.

ARCH’s presence at this edition was particularly significant as a new business unit focused on medium-sized projects in the residential, industrial, retail, and services segments, combining an agile and accessible structure with the know-how and accumulated experience of the national “Engineering House.”

Over the course of the three days, we were able to provide a close and engaging experience for visitors, reflecting the brands’ identities and how they position themselves in the sector.

Participation in Tektónica 2026 reinforces Teixeira Duarte’s commitment as an active and relevant player in the sector, and as a symbol of innovation and the creation of sustainable value.
