Construção Verdelago Resort Algarve

Teixeira Duarte executes three new phases of the Verdelago Resort in the Algarve

Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções has been selected to continue the construction of 3 new phases of the Verdelago Resort tourist development, a project that includes the execution of the structure, finishes and special installations for 8 lots, in a total of 120 apartments. The contract establishes an execution period of 30 months.

This contract award comes after the completion of Phase 3, in which Teixeira Duarte carried out, within a period of 16 months, the finishing touches and special installations for 3 lots with 55 apartments.

Promoted by Verdelago – Sociedade Imobiliária, S.A., Verdelago Resort is an exclusive development comprising several residential units. It is the only 5-star rated nature resort located on the coastline of the eastern Algarve (Altura/Faro). It is a luxury project that combines sophistication with high standards of efficiency in terms of construction, mobility and energy.

For Teixeira Duarte, the continuation of this collaboration represents an important sign of trust from Verdelago and an incentive to maintain its ongoing commitment to quality and excellence in the execution of this landmark project.

O Conselho de Administração da Teixeira Duarte esteve “no terreno”: Obra Colombo

The Board of Directors of Teixeira Duarte visited the site: Colombo Construction Project

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors (CA) of Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções, S.A. was held in July at the Colombo construction site, allowing CA members to see first-hand the progress of one of the most challenging projects the Company is currently undertaking, which is considered a case study in national engineering.

The project aims to build a new car park between the Colombo and Hospital da Luz buildings – both fully operational – as well as a new nine-storey office building, which, although built on top of an existing building, is completely independent from it. In fact, it was this independence that led to the design of the construction system, which resembles that of a bridge and allows the new building, with a floor area of 5,000 m2, to have only 12 vertical elements, with spans of around 50 m, a very unique feature for an office building.

The ingenuity involved in executing this project is an example of Teixeira Duarte’s technical capabilities and a source of pride for the professionals involved, who, working in various departments, came together and made it possible to carry out such technically demanding work.

It was very rewarding for the members of the Board of Directors to visit this project and witness how the teams lead processes with this level of complexity and responsibility, responding to customer objectives and contributing to the success of their projects.

Teixeira Duarte’s new service fleet is more sustainable

Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções has chosen bi-fuel vehicles with a lower environmental impact for its new car fleet in Portugal. This decision took into account the characteristics of the business trips made by employees, as well as ecological and performance factors. According to data from the European Liquefied Gas Association, LPG emits 75% less carbon monoxide and 11% less carbon dioxide than a petrol car, and produces 30% less noise than a diesel car.

The first vehicles in the new fleet were delivered yesterday, 30 July, to around 40 employees at a symbolic ceremony held at the Montijo Operational Centre, attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Teixeira Duarte, Manuel Maria Teixeira Duarte, members of the Board of Directors and representatives of Renault Portugal.
