Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções, S.A. acquired laser scanning equipment with innovative technology that is currently unique in Portugal.
The NavVis VLX 3 is an industry-leading mobile mapping system that is fully portable and operated by just one person. Through laser scanning, it combines traditional surveying methods with advanced technology to capture and create accurate and comprehensive representations of physical spaces, both indoors and outdoors. It allows you to visualize them effectively and integrate them into existing workflows, enabling better understanding, planning and management of the built environment.
Laserscan is a technique that uses a laser beam to accurately measure the distance between the laser scanner and an object or surface, and is widely used in areas such as topographic mapping, civil engineering, architecture, archeology and monitoring of structures. Analysis of the data collected by laserscan allows the creation of detailed three-dimensional models of the existing environment and accurate information about the shape, size and characteristics of surfaces.
SLAM-based laserscan is a valuable tool in construction documentation, allowing everything from capturing precise measurements to creating detailed 3D models of existing structures or construction sites. This technology combines high-definition panoramic images with the accuracy of laserscan, providing construction industry professionals with the information they need to make informed decisions. When it comes to heritage, mobile mapping systems are a non-invasive, accurate and efficient solution for capturing historic sites and buildings. This technology is especially useful for projects that require extensive documentation, allowing you to preserve detailed 3D information for the documentation, restoration or conservation of historic sites.
Under the coordination of Teixeira Duarte’s Project Management, this technology is now available to enhance all of the Company’s projects and works.
