SEWERS CATCH SYSTEM AT THE CAIS DO SODRÉ/ALCÂNTARA II

The purpose of this contract job is to build the domestic effluents transport and catch infrastructures to be treated at the Alcântara WWTP, the draining fronts, Largo Chafariz de Dentro – Terreiro do Paço – Cais do Sodré, which are presently being directly discharged to the Tagus River estuary, with the highlight in the following works:

  • Gravity catch system along Rua da Cintura do Porto de Lisboa and Avenida de Brasília, in ductile cast iron piping, DN 1200 mm, with a slope of approximately 1.0 per thousand, in a total extension of 2 059 m;
  • EE20 Santos and EE19 Rocha Conde de Óbidos Pumping Stations (Flow = 1.100 litres/second);
  • DN 1000 mm and DN 900 mm eduction pipe, in ductile cast iron, in an approximate length of 450 m (386 m in DN 1000 mm and 63 m in DN 900 mm), downstream the EE19 Rocha Conde de Óbidos Pumping Station;
  • Crossing between the riverside area of Alcântara and 24 de Julho, carried out using the horizontal drilling method, with the driving of DN 1500 concrete piping, in an extension of approximately 60 m;
  • Infrastructures by-pass, suspension and replacement to the original position (affected services);
  • Works and surrounding area monitoring;
  • Detour of road and pedestrians traffic.
