REHABILITATION AND REINFORCEMENT OF THE MARINA OF OEIRAS

Client: City Council of Oeiras
Location: Avenida Marginal, Marina de Oeiras – Portugal
Execution Period: 9 Months

A maritime project consisting of the reinforcement and rehabilitation of the marina of Oeiras. The rehabilitation occurred in various areas of the port, namely the rehabilitation of the more damaged zones of the extrados of the main jetty, with rockfill ranging from 8 to 10 tons, cleaning dredging operations along the intrados and the extrados of the jetty and repaving of the counter-jetty platform.
Besides the restoration of the design conditions, by means of the above mentioned rehabilitation, it was carried out the reinforcement of the areas more exposed to damages resulting from the maritime agitation. There were two problematic zones identified; the first : the dry dock, where occurs overwash in days of higher maritime agitation, with the execution of rockfill of a range from 12 to 15 tons, and the reinforcement of the slope of the counter-jetty to minimise the transportation of the fines of its core, thus avoiding the degradation of the existing platform over the core, using rockfill with a range of 3 to 5 tons. Lastly, it was rehabilitated the embankment pavement near the counter-jetty lighthouse, an area of 1.400 m2

Rockfill from 30 kN to 50 kN: 2.446  m³
Rockfill from 30 kN to 100 kN: 9.897  m³
Rockfill from 30 kN to 150 kN: 8.627  m³
Dredging: 5.547  m³
