BYPASS TO ALCÁCER DO SAL – 2ND PHASE
RAILWAY CROSSING OF SADO AND
ACCESS VIADUCTS

This project consisted of the execution, in the South railway line, km 8+350 and km 11+265, Alcácer do Sal – Portugal, of the following activities:

Construction of a bridge with spans, with a length of 480 meters, metallic deck with bow-strings in the spans with a height of 26,30 meters. 
Southern access viaduct with a length of 1.140 meters: 17 spans of 45 m and 10 spans of 37,5 meters. 
Northern access viaduct with a length of 1.114,5 meters: 19 spans of 45 m, 6 spans of 37,5 m and 1 span of 34,75 m. 

Piles Ø 1200mm (41 units):  675 m 
Piles Ø 1500mm (192 units): 5.250 m 
Piles Ø 2000mm (42 units):  1.380 m 
Cofferdams in the river using sheet piles AU18 (4 units): 4950  
Cofferdams in the margins (20 units):  11.500  

Concrete: 64.000  
Steel A500:  8.700 tons 
Formwork:  100.000  
Steel sheet and profiles: 12.000 tons
