4TH AND 5TH SECTIONS OF THE ALVITO/PISÃO CANAL OF THE PRIMARY IRRIGATION SYSTEM OF THE MULTIPLE PURPOSES DEVELOPMENT OF ALQUEVA

Construction of the 4th and 5th sections of the Alvito-Pisão canal of the primary irrigation system multiple purposes development of Alqueva, with a length of 15,578 km, with two different types of section:

• Open sky trapezoidal canal, coated with concrete reinforced wit metallic fobres, with a height ranging from 3,40m to 3,60m and a width of 2,50m.
• Covered rectangular canal, with closed frame structure of reinforced concrete double span with variable section (width 2 x 3,80m and 2 x 3,65m and height from 3,40m to 3,60m), executed using the system “cut and cover”.

Water inlet: 4 unit
Regulation structures: 3 unit
Emergency spillways: 4 unit
Culverts under the canal: 18 unit
Overpasses: 13 unit
Fauna passages: 3 unit
Rescue and access to the canal ramps : 25 unit

Execution of service passage ways, fences, gates, hydro mechanical equipment, electrical installations, automation and remote management.
