Infraestruturas de Portugal, S.A. awarded the Concession contract for the High Speed ​​Railway Line between Porto (Campanhã) and Oiã to the Consortium of companies that Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções is part of with a 19% stake. This is the 1st of three phases of the new Porto – Lisbon connection.

The contract in question aims to grant the aforementioned line for 30 years, with two phases: 1) development, lasting 5 years, for conception, design, construction and financing of the infrastructure; 2) availability, with 25 years, for maintenance and availability of assets.

The works included in the contract include the construction of 71 km of railway line, with a double track of 1668 mm gauge for passengers and a maximum speed of 300 km/h, the construction of a road-rail bridge over the Douro, connections to the Northern Line, in Canelas, 17 km long, the adaptation of the Campanhã Station, a new underground station in Santo Ovídio, Vila Nova de Gaia, and an electrical traction substation in Estarreja.

The participation of Teixeira Duarte – Engenharia e Construções in the awarded Consortium is equivalent to a turnover of approximately 440 million Euros, with the contribution of other companies in the Group being expected, namely EPOS and SOMAFEL in the development phase and, in the maintenance, from SOMAFEL and TDGI.

Being a structuring work for Portugal, it will bring a lot of value to the Construction sector of the Teixeira Duarte Group from an operational and reputational point of view, contributing to the dynamism of its activity over the next few years, whether through the development of teams and training of people, or the capacity to invest in equipment.

In addition to Teixeira Duarte, the LusoLav Consortium is made up of Mota-Engil, as leader, Casais – Engenharia e Construção, Alves Ribeiro, Conduril – Engenharia and Construções Gabriel A.S. Couto.
