A41 – BRIDGE OVER THE DOURO RIVER

Construction of road bridge over the Douro River, in pre-stressed reinforced concrete, with 2 (two) 19.40 metres wide each parallel decks, built using an incremental advancing process, 730 metres long, comprised by 6 spans (65,00 + 115,00 + 3×150,00 + 100,00), with 50 metres maximum height.
Two of the five pillars that compose this engineering structure are located in the river bed and are supported by blocks at the head of 18 lost metal shrouded reinforced concrete piles, 2 metres diameter at an average depth of 46 metres.
