Construction of the Cerro da Mina reservoir, executed at the Neves Corvo Mining Area, property of Somincor.
The reservoir is located downstream Portela ME2 of Cerro do Lobo Dam and was designed for the storage of waste water surplus, resulting from the circulation of the water used in the mines’ industrial process.
The contract job aimed at the construction of the following works:
– Cerro da Mina reservoir, including the related waterproofing system;
– Hydraulic elements annexed to the mentioned reservoir, composed of the floods discharger, provisional diversion and water intake works (main and secondary);
– Partition of the Monte Branco reservoir (landfill and water transfer circuit);
– Rainwater diversion channel which will continue the present water diversion system of the Cerro do Lobo Dam;
– Sludge retention lagoon of the respective waterproofing system and the surrounding works for channelling the waters from the existing aqueduct.

Explosive application for industrial shooting operations: 250 ton
Waterproofing system PEAD screen / geo-composite: 112 000 m2
Concrete: 3 613 m3
Steel: 210 ton
