SATU – OEIRAS AUTOMATIC SYSTEM OF URBAN TRANSPORT

Location: Paço de Arcos/Oeiras (Parque dos Poetas) – Portugal
Execution Period: 24 Months

 

Design / Build / Operation (through the company SATU – OEIRAS) of an automatic system of uban transport between the railway station of Paço de Arcos and the extreme north of Av. António Bernardo Macedo (Oeiras Parque zone).

Fully Automatic System (no driver);
Cable traction (clamp system to connect the vehicle to the cable);
Traction equipment installed at Navegantes station (1st phase), powered by electrical energy;
Engine braking system and brakes in the stations when of cable switching;
Maximum speed 11,0 m/s (40,0 km/h);
Dimension of the carriages: (height/length/width) 3,50m x 11,20m x 2,86m.

Stations:
Access by standard stairs or escalators and lift;
Automatic ticket dispensers;
Automatic door entry with built-in ticket readers;
Automatic platform doors (opening only when the train is on the station);
Stations and vehicles equipped with CCTV system;
Stations stoppage time – 30 seconds.

Track:
Over viaduct in single track (maximum gradient 12,5%), 100% dedicated;
Vehicles (trains) crossing in the stations;
Viaducts which allow for passengers evacuation in case of emergency, along the full track length;
Communication with the vehicles through the sound system and interphone system from the control centre.
