REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE

General repair and maintenance of the bridge General Nobre de Carvalho, Macau, China. The contract included: 

Repairs to deteriorated concrete ranged from minor cracks to the reconstruction of structural elements, including the replacement of reinforcements, using work platforms supported by metal guardrails or counterweights. This allowed for the repair of the bridge decks, crossbeams, and pillars;
Repair of pavement fractures and removal of the existing micro-concrete layer, thorough removal of existing concrete on the edges and axis (transversal direction), supports, and span areas (longitudinal direction);
Execution of a levelling layer in variable thickness bituminous concrete and a wear layer in bituminous concrete with a thickness of 5 cm;
Fabrication and replacement of two metal expansion joints located in the highest area of the bridge, and repair/maintenance of the remaining joints on the sidewalks and roadway;
Maintenance and painting of 5.200 meters of metal guardrails, painting of the kerb, repaired concrete surfaces, and areas exposed to seawater;
Execution of various tasks including cleaning and unclogging of stormwater drainage pipes, cleaning and washing of supports with diesel, removal of rust and/or possible stripping, lubrication and unclogging of moving devices.
