WWTP UMM AL HAYMAN – KUWAIT<\/h1>\n

The project works, designated as civil works, correspond to all civil works necessary for the construction of a new WWTP at Umm Al Hayman – Kuwait, located at approximately 70 Km south of Kuwait City and 3,5 Km of the coastal line, in a zone adjacent to an existing WWTP (to be deactivated), with an initial treatment capacity of 500.000 m\u00b3\/d waste water and prepared to expand up to a final capacity of 700.000 m\u00b3\/d. This new WWTP includes the tertiary treatment of effluents, the installation of a unit to dry and re-use the muds and the production of bio-fuel. The project consists in the construction of 98 structures and buildings (including internal facilities), with 44 different typologies, as well as all earthworks required, buried external networks and drainage, road network \/ signage, lighting, CCTV, fences and landscaping, inside the perimeter of the new WWTP.<\/p>\n

The project consists mainly of reinforced concrete structures belonging to the waste water treatment process arriving to the WWTP, complemented with support buildings (offices, laboratory and workshops \/ maintenance). Given its dimension, but essentially due to its height, the structures with greater impact in this construction are the six digesters, with 21 m of diameter and approximately 35 m of height. It is worthy of note the buried network to transport the products resulting from the treatment which connects the different organs of the WWTP, executed with various materials such as HDPE (high density polyethylene), DI (piping in cast iron), GRP (glass reinforced plastic), PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and pipelines up to 2.200 mm of diameter, installed in a trench down to 6 m of depth.<\/p>\n

The project also included the execution of all the necessary tests for the commissioning and final acceptance of the project.<\/p>\n
