The project strengthens the concept of public transport integrating the different means of transport: Subway, trains, ferries, cable car, BRT, conventional bus networks and the airport (Santos Dumont). Rio\u2019s VLT will be one of the world\u2019s first light-rail systems designed entirely without overhead lines, as power will be supplied by the APS (ground-level power supply) system, which is like a third rail, already implemented successfully in some European cities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-12951 gallery-columns-1 gallery-size-large'><figure
